Students are the brand ambassador of an academic institution: Vice-Chancellor

Kurukshetra, 8 August: While addressing the newly admitted students to various courses in the University, Vice-Chancellor Dr. Kailash Chandra Sharma said that it’s the quality of education that determines fate of a nation.

He called upon the youth to develop a holistic personality and not just rush after the competition. A holistic mindset wherein the students develop their spiritual and emotional skills along with expertise in their subjects leads to a more contended life. One is able to face the situations in life if he develops these skills during the student age.

He said that students are the brand ambassador of an academic institution and their achievements in the life help in building the image of the university. If a University is producing quality human resource and good citizens, the society respects such an academic institution. Vice-Chancellor appealed to the students that during the student life cycle they should work on their skills, improve their academic and professional standards. University is committed to providing them the requisite ambience to develop their personalities. University is developing several centres that focus on research, and developing the human resources that join the University.

He said that India has lot of expectations from its youth, to meet out these expectations every student and teacher needs to work hard for nation building. Financial prosperity, economic stability is the most important parameter of development. India will definitely lead the world when it became economically stable. The Vice-Chancellor talked about skill India, make in India, digital India and some others great initiative of the Central Government.

In India, we need to provide quality education. By virtue of its commitment to quality teaching and research, Kurukshetra University has emerged as a leading institution in the country. A mother of five universities of Haryana, it has earned coveted A Plus Grade by NAAC and now the students of this august institution need to carry this tradition of knowledge. India has upheld the quality of education and preached human values. Without human values, professional competence is of no use. He expressed his concern over brain drain, which is emerging among the students of reputed institutions. By studying in India, the youth must contribute to serving their own nation. He called upon them to develop knowledge and skills and prepare themselves for the future. They need to hone up the requisite knowledge to measure upto the same. A student spends the best years of their life in the campus and it is a time when they can invest in themselves. He said that in addition to acquiring knowledge, they must develop the values, love for the nation, and become useful members of the society.

He further said that Kurukshetra University offers them a serene ambience with smart classrooms, wifi facilities, infrastructure, facilities for sports and cultural events etc. All this makes the campus highly conducive for learning. The students must make use of these facilities for learning. He called upon the students to maintained discipline in the campus and learn soft skills and manners that reflect the qualities of an educated person. He also said that the students must fulfill their social responsibility as well and must repay to the society after they complete their education.

The induction programme was organized by the Office of Dean Students’ Welfare, who welcomed the Vice-Chancellor and other University Officials and students and explained about the facilities and services provided by the University to the students.

On this occasion, the Dean Academic Affairs Prof. Manjula Chaudhary, Librarian Prof. Manoj Joshi, Proctor Prof. R.K. Deswal, Chief Warden Women Prof. Manjusha, Director IT Prof. Pardeep Kumar apprised the students about the facilities available in the campus
