Kurukshetra, 14 March: Three Days Continuing Educational Programme on Innovations in Teaching & learning skills in Pharmaceutical Sciences sponsored by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has been started on Thursday (14th March 2019) at senate hall of Kurukshetra University Kurukshetra. Institute of pharmaceutical sciences organized this programme. The programme was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Prof. Shailendra Saraf, Vice president Pharmacy Council of India, New Delhi, honorable Vice Chancellor Kurukshetra University, Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma, Dean academic affairs Kurukshetra University, Prof. Manjula Chaudhary and Director, Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences Kurukshetra University, Prof. A.C Rana by lightning the ceremonial lamp. Convener of Continuing Educational Programme Prof. A.C Rana gladly welcomed all the dignitaries, participants and students. Prof. Shailendra Saraf highlighted the objective of Continuing Educational Programme is to provide a continuous updation about current technologies being introduced globally & to sensitize the teachers about the challenges of profession. He further added that there is urgent need to compile & disseminate the present knowledge & technologies generated by renowned experts to the pharmacy teachers for the advancement of the pharmacy profession. Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Kailash Chandra Sharma highlighted the importance of ethics in pharmacy profession and in human life. Prof. Manjula Chaudhary congratulated all the participants.
On the first day, three eminent scientists grace the occasion & deliberated on the theme. In the first session, Prof. Ranju Bansal, UIPS, Panjab University, Chandigarh deliberated on the topic “ Combinatorial Chemistry: A novel Approach in Drug Discovery”. In the second session, Prof. Arun Nanda, MDU, Rohtak discussed on the topic “Copyright and Plagiarism” which was followed by talk on “Vision of Higher Pharmaceutical Education in India” by Prof. Gajendra Singh, Head, College of Pharmacy, Pt. BDSUHS Rohtak). A great enthusiasm was also seen among the participants of the programme and they delightfully listened to talks delivered by eminent scientists.
